It’s almost that time of year again, Christmas is just around the corner. And what would this Advent season be without gingerbread? Even as a vegan you would not want to miss these delicacies. Therefore I present you today a recipe for vegan gingerbread.
I need only the following things:
Ingredients:
-500 g flour
-250 g of raw sugar
-200 ml of vegetable milk (e.g soya or oat milk)
-3 tbsp Koaka powder for baking
-1 pack of baking soda
-2 EL gingerbread spice (I have mine from Sonnentor)
-Flour to unroll the dough
For the glaze:
-150 g powdered sugar
– juice of half an orange
Preparation vegan gingerbread:
Mix all the dry ingredients. Then add the plant milk and knead everything to a firm dough. Roll the dough 1 cm thick on your working plate. Any shapes can now be punched out. I have decided for classic hearts and gingerbread figures.
Place them on a baking tray covered with baking paper and spread them with vegetable milk. Bake in the pre-heated oven at 180C ° for approx. 10 min. It is best to keep an eye on the gingerbread as it should not become too dry.
Make a glaze from sugar and orange juice and spread the still hot gingerbread with it. Allow it to cool down on a grate.
The gingerbread can be stored for a while in a pochette, but in my case they do not survive for more than a week :). I find the gingerbread also perfect as a homemade gift for Christmas.
