My absolute favorite snack at the moment are homemade Kale chips. The recipe is so simple that you simply have to try it. I was always afraid that I didn´t get good results without the right equipment, such as a Food Dehydrator, but with this recipe I got great and crunchy Kale Chips.
Ingredients:
– 12 kale leaves
– 2 tsp salt
– Optional: 1 crushed clove of garlic, chili or other spices
Preparation kale chips:
The kale leaves must first be removed from its stem, the leaves can be cut into any size pieces and mix well in a bowl with the spices. If someone doesn´t has a Food-Dehydrator: Spread the leaves on 1-2 baking sheets and bake 30 minutes crispy in a preheated oven at 130 degrees. It is best to open the oven door every 10 minutes briefly, so that the moisture can escape.
I find it fascinating that you don´t need any oil for very crispy chips. So you get a very tasty and healthy snack at the same time.
Fact on the edge: kale contains many antioxidant vitamins, minerals, fiber, amino acids and phytochemicals.
